Kate is able to advise on a wide range of family law issues, including financial disputes following the breakdown of a relationship, nuptial agreements, and relocation disputes regarding children.

Kate also has an interest in the tax issues which may be encountered by families going through a separation.

Kate read law at Exeter before joining Deloitte as an analyst in their M&A / Private Funds Tax team. After a year and a half, she decided to pursue a career in family law, training with a specialist divorce and litigation firm in the City. Kate qualified in September 2019 and then joined the firm in January 2021.

Outside of work, Kate enjoys drinking and learning about wine, spinning, and playing tennis when the sun is out. She also takes pride in being a long-suffering Welsh rugby supporter.

  • Acting for a UK based Wife in her successful application to top up her financial award following matrimonial proceedings in France on the basis that she should not have had to use her French divorce award for unpaid child maintenance.
  • Representing an EU national living in England in respect of his application under the inherent jurisdiction to stay the Wife's financial application here, to allow a divorce to progress in the home country of the parties, which the Husband considered to be the more appropriate jurisdiction. The matter was settled outside of court shortly before the hearing.
  • Acting for a Father in relation to arrangements for the parties' two young children, moving over the lengthy period of representation from the mother's starting position of no time spent overnight with the client to a shared care position.
