You’re absolutely right. AI isn’t ready for law yet. What we need, is lots of those clever non lawyer creative techie people to keep developing it to create a one stop fits all PERFECT legal tool to meet all our specialist needs.
We lawyers are busy. Deadlines to meet. Marketing to do. Clients to help. Teams to manage. You crack on with that AI stuff and let us know when it’s done. Obviously there are a couple of things we need it to deliver, and please no misguiding law or any of those dodgy non cases please. Get it right then we will take a look.
Oh hahaha. Someone relied on it. Got something wrong. Wrong case wrong citation wrong application. Silly people. Told off by the Judge. Pass the Red Book please.
No wait. Hang on. What? You’re giving the clients tools to understand things better themselves? That sounds…scary. Uncommercial. We will lose work. They won’t need us anymore. How can AI get it right? We’ve been doing this for twenty years. They need to come to us to help them.
THEY NEED US.
They do.
They do.
They do.
They do…
